YouMusic Cloud - free and open music streaming
YouMusic is a music streaming platform built to deliver a complete listening experience, free and without compromise. Import your playlists from YouTube, Spotify or Apple Music, listen online or offline, and enjoy a player designed for comfort.
Our challenge: build a web app as smooth as a native application, with a reliable offline mode, smart storage management and an interface that makes you want to stay.
Approach & architecture
YouMusic was designed as a Progressive Web App (PWA): it installs on mobile like a native app, works offline thanks to the Service Worker, and offers a smooth experience with gesture navigation (swipe to change track, swipe down to close the player).
The audio player is the heart of the product: speed control (0.5× to 2×), synchronised lyrics display with smart caching, shuffle and repeat modes, and an immersive full-screen mode. The download system manages the local storage quota with automatic alerts.
Design philosophy: Minimalism and fluidity. The interface steps back to put the music first. Every interaction - from search to playback - is optimised for the fewest possible taps.
